Name: Anna Marie
Age: 18
From: Bristol
Interests: she enjoys spending time with her friends, watching movies and shopping - but music is her passion. She loves singing and writing her own songs, she hopes one day to become a professional musician. She always saves up to go to concerts of her favourite bands.
Music Taste: She loves Green Day, Every Avenue, Fall Out Boy and Motion City Soundtrack. She also listens to Seether, My Chemical Romance, You Me At Six and Biffy Clyro. She always enjoys discovering new bands as she loves sharing music with her friends.
Income: she is a student but has a part time job that she gets a decent amount of money from. This means she has disposable income for her musical passion and often buys music magazines.
Magazines: Anna Marie often buys magazines like Kerrang, NME and Rock Sound. She likes music magazines that focus on the music, but also likes when she can find out about the artists behind the songs - their inspiration and past experiences that made them who they are. She prefers magazines that have a busy layout as opposed to simple ones as she likes to see everything that is in the magazine that she will be buying. She prefers to buy magazines that are in the £2-£3 price range and wants a magazine that is good value for money.

Mast Head Ideas
I have decided on the name 'Rogue' for my magazine, and have chosen a selection of fonts that will pursue my genre of an alternative rock and punk as they are all fonts which appear to be distorted and untidy.
I like this font because it is clear and bold. The way the letters seem to be ripped out portrays anarchy and not following conventional rules. The thick black outline contrasts with the white lettering which makes the name seem as a statement, so will be likely to stick in the readers mind and cause them to remember it next time they wish to purchase a magazine.
This font has a unique design that would differ it from other magazines of the same genre. I like how the white at the bottom cuts up the black, making it alternative and appealing to the audience of the magazine as it is very unconventional. However, I fear that it does not stand out enough, and would be tricky to see in a magazine rack.
I like how this font looks corroded and distressed, emphasising the type of alternative music that will be featured in the magazine. The font is interesting, and so would gain interest of potential consumers as, like the other fonts, it is unconventional so would gain attention. However, I am aware that the font looks as though it would appear more to girls than boys, whereas I wanted my magazine to be unisex.
For 'Rogue' I will use the first font for my masthead, as I believe that it will appeal more to my target audience than the others.
Colour Scheme Ideas
For my colour schemes I tried to find a variety that would fit my magazine. At first i experimented with pinks and purples, however i feel that this would limit my audience to mainly females - whereas i wanted to produce a magazine that appealed to the both sexes. I likes the idea of using a black and grey, along with the colour - but i feel that this would make the magazine too dark and give me less of a contrast to work with. I would have liked to use the traditional colours of black, white and red, but i feel like this is over used and would make my magazine stand out less among others. Therefore I have decided to go with black, white and blue as I feel that the colours will apply to both males and females, as well as suitable to use alongside many cover stars for my magazine.

Magazine Title Ideas
I have tried to think of potential magazine names that relates to my theme of Alternative Rock and Punk music. The magazine name needs to be short, snappy and easy to read so it does not bore the potential audience. It also needs to be eye-catching and unlike any other music magazine names.
Anarchy
Lightsound
The system
Nuclear
Blast
Rogue
Storm
Raven
Linked
Fire
Break out
My favourite names are Lightsound and Rogue. Lightsound was inspired by the Belarusian alternative rock band 'Litesound' because I like the way the word immediately creates the image of loud music and flashing lights, much like a concert. This name is unique and unlike any other British music magazine as the band that the name came from is obscure, so it would seem original to a UK audience.
I like the name Rogue as it has the connotation of being an outcast and not partaking in conformity. It sounds similar to the well-known magazine 'Vogue' so woiuld be ironic in that it has contrasting content. For my final title I will probably choose one of these two.

School Magazine
For my school magazine I decided to use the name 'Lexis,' which is an English term used to describe words. As the name is very elegant and formal, i used the font 'Excalibur SF' as to make it look historical and very English. I chose to use the school colours in the magazine, to emphasise the fact it is about the school and used the light blue gradient at the side to add character. Both of the images are relevant to the school and thereby help students that wish to have the magazine, relate to it themselves.
